Java Pepper mill / salt mill is equipped with a mechanism with a double row of teeth that captures the peppercorns, pulls them down, then locks them in place to grind them perfectly. Our wooden pepper mills offer a good grip with sizes adapted to your needs.

Grinder pepper mills: infinitely adjustable grinder made of carbon steel. Two different tooth rings lead the peppercorns and keep these in breaking. They are different shaped and cured, thus they are sharp and are virtually indestructible.
Grinder salt mills: continuously variable conical grinder made of 18/10 stainless steel. A special finish protects the steel particularly resistant to salt corrosion. The milled salt grains have all the same size. The grinder is designed for grinding large, dry salt crystals. The inner shaft is made of stainless steel.

However, de Buyer is first and foremost a manufacturer that loves to design, innovate and use its savoir faire and experience to make its products. As a living heritage company, the business has retained its artisanal soul, its rigour and its love for work well done.

De Buyer has always wanted to offer its own collection of mills, bearing its signature.

De Buyer approached Marlux to create this collection. Both companies share the same values, an artisanal soul and a love for work well done. Marlux is a family business, founded in 1875 and is also a living heritage company that has become a major name in the history of French mill manufacturing. In 1972, it revolutionised the world of spices by inventing the nutmeg mill and, as true benchmarks, their mills featured on the finest tables because of the quality of their salt and pepper grinders, manufactured on its own machines. The great spice adventure began in 2015 for de Buyer and the first mills began to leave the factory in 2016. The company’s mastery of materials enables de Buyer to create mills with new signature mechanisms in steel and ceramic.

Today, the manufacturing process of the mills is part of the de Buyer company’s CSR policy: the wooden mills are made of beech from sustainably managed forests and have obtained the Origine France Garantie certification.
