A time we've started manufacturing our first iron pans, in Val d'Ajol, France, where we still are today.
Based in the natural park Ballon des Vosges in France, de Buyer has been designing and manufacturing top-of-the range cooking and pastry utensils for almost 200 years.
Rich in rare know-how accumulated by its generations of craftsmen and workers, de Buyer has received multiple awards and official labels, such as EPV, which recognizes French companies with traditional expertise and industrial excellence, ISO 9001, or more recently elected Best 2019 Culinary Brand by the famous economics French magazine Capital
De Buyer has nurtured an in-depth relationship by permanently solving Chefs, pastry makers and professional cooks demanding needs for technical tools, reliable and cost-effective utensils. It’s been only in the past 20 years that de Buyer has successfully opened its distribution of professional cookware & bakeware utensils to home cooking amateurs.
With a hundred years of metals forging experience, de Buyer is one rare world manufacturer able to produce high quality cookware and bakeware in multiple materials: iron, stainless steel, copper, aluminum, nonstick coatings, silicone molds…. Our manufactory produces as many as 2,000 different utensils to cover the needs of professional kitchens, and now those of keen amateurs !

Michel Roth is known as one of the most outstanding French chefs in the contemporary world.
Its culinary arts combine artistic beauty, endless innovative thinking and delicacy. He has won numerous awards and won the same year, in 1991, the Bocuse d’Or and Meilleur Ouvrier de France (MOF) , a double champion title known as the Culinary Olympiad. In 2009, his talent as Executive Chef of the Palace Hotel Ritz in Paris gave L’Espadon, The Ritz Hotel restaurant, its second Michelin star.
With his extraordinary professional knowledge and skills, he pursues the ultimate French aesthetic spirit and quest for technic perfection. He sees the same philosophy in de Buyer’s people, and that’s why he joined the ranks of de Buyer as its global Brand Ambassador.
